Sarah Caspari, a social first intern for the Christian Science Monitor, takes information from studies to discuss the link between violent video games and aggressive behavior. Although her article determines that videogames are not the sole factor in aggressive behavior, it provides a profound link. She writes that researchers claimed that there was lack of compelling evidence to make the assumption that video games impacted child behavior. Yes and No," is that violence in mass media does affect the youth, however I agree with the research when I say is is not the sole factor. I believe that people are looking at this situation wrong, and that they are only seeing black and white. Yes, mass media is a problem when considering aggressive behavior, but it is not the only reason behind their bad behavior. I believe that people or parents who say that it is not a problem at all are lying to protect their reputation as a “good parent.” I also believe that videogames are not rated harsh enough. It blows my mind that parents will buy their 12 year old child a video game such as, Call of Duty, which is rated 18+. If you would not let your 12 year old child watch a Rated R movie why let them play the game. I believe that children form this aggressive behavior not only from just the game itself but from lack of communication. If a child is glued to a TV screen playing games from the time they get home until bed they are lacking communication skills, so when they are confronted by kids at school they come across as rude or unpleasant.
