Anh T Vo Dr. Oxendine Engl 1301-81057 18 December, 2015 Reflection Before my English 1301 class started, I made a commitment for myself that I would get an A in this class. In order to achieve this goal, I make some short-term goals, try my best, and consider my behavior. All actions and thoughts, which I have made in this course, give me a fresh result as the end of the semester is coming. Being an ambitious student offers me opportunities to keep encourage myself study hard and believe that my effort will be paid off. Before this course started, I bought a required book.
As a freshmen in a community college, you must likely have to take English 111 for Associate in Arts and Associates in Science. English 111 is a challenging course yet, it helps you become a better reader and writer. An instructor will ask you to peer edit other students’ essays so that you can help that person see your perspective of their essay to help them become better writers. Being part of the paired class, which English 111 and Public Speaking going over the same topics, the main point that your instructor will make sure that students do not stereotype or overgeneralize others like Muslims that live in the United States. Do you know if you are a critical thinker or not?
This semester was filled with many bumpy roads. I struggled in the beginning of the semester with my writings , as I didn 't feel confident enough to write a well developed writing. I seemed to find myself struggling whereas writing was not my favorable subject. The major errors I had in my writings this semester would be , grammatical errors,work citations, transition words, formatting ,paragraph development, sentence structure , and sentence level issue. Therefore I have set goals to improve my writing in the future.
Last fall semester was my first semester in college. I took English 111 with the hope of gaining some initial experience with college writing. I am an international student, so it was a struggle at the beginning to understand and meet the expectations of my professor, as well as to catch up with the pace of my peers. However, looking back to what I learnt in English 111, I think the difficulties did not prevent be from having an amazing experience. I was able to learn how to analyze a text, make an argument and support my argument.
As a student preparing to enroll in English 114, I am confident that I have the necessary skills to succeed in the course. English 114 is an important class for any student, as it provides an opportunity to hone critical thinking, analytical, and writing skills, which are essential for success in any field. In this essay, I will outline some of the skills required for success in English 114 and how I believe I possess these skills. One of the key skills required for success in English 114 is strong study skills. English 114 involves reading, analyzing, and synthesizing complex texts, which can be time-consuming and overwhelming.
My reflection in English 0492 was a great learning experience for me. There is a lot of skillful things that I took from English 0492. One of the requirement that I pick up in my journey of learning English 0492. Developing my English learning flow through transition words which is very important when you’re writing essay. Learning to revise was another great example that kind help me understand English writing.
Throughout this paper, I am going to discuss the three stages of "The Reflection Cycle". These three stages include: describe, analyze, and plan. Under the describe stage I will be summarizing my learning experience throughout this course and emphasize who, what, when, where, and how this course helped me. Analyzing stage will discuss a breakdown of all of the assignments and how the benefited me and what areas need to be improved. It will also show how it worked for me and how it didn 't and finally it will end with me saying what I learned throughout the semester and how I learned it.
Portfolio Part B: Reflection on the overall learning within the module Prior to starting this course the MA Social Work course and the PPSWP module I felt very confident in the aspects of communicating effectively and working with a diverse range of people, and after the reading the professional capabilities framework I believe that I hold the same personal values which is expected of a social worker. ENG-122 Reflective Essay My writing process has changed tremendously over the course of this class. I feel more accomplished, confident and I feel sometimes that my ideas and thoughts just come in to my mind out of nowhere and I start writing about anything now. I pay attention to my punctuation and grammar more as I have polished them more now, not only when I write but then others write as well. I am constantly looking for errors and I highly think this is helping me a lot in my career.
Reflection has greatly help with my learning both as a student and in relation to my work and life experiences. I have become aware of useful strategies to deal with issue with the counselling technique. I have always been a thinker, but throughout my coursework, I have greatly sharpened my analysis skills. Although this is not the first time I’m preparing and delivering for a presentation, overall I am pleased and really enjoyed researching the topic and assembling the information into my assessment.
