My time in 4-H, working, volunteering, and my first semester of college have provided me with leadership opportunities and experiences that were often challenging. In order to cope with these challenges, I had to develop skills that would allow me to move forward. The first of which is the ability to work well on a team. This skill is one that I’ve had to practice in many environments such as completing a group project, playing softball, working in food service, and volunteering as a camp counselor.
Every time that a group project is assigned I look everywhere in search of hardworking people, but unfortunately this is rare nowadays. I personally do not like working with a group of people, it is a waste of our time for a number of reasons. People are more dependent on one another and expect the job to be done for them without even trying. This affects the way we are now, things are not supposed to be easy and just magically be solved; it defeats the purpose of working together with each other and learning. I agree that more people can serve as a power source for more research, but it still isn’t sufficient enough for those who just act like fools and don’t get their work done; the one’s that are goofing around can distract the rest of the group members and convince them to join the dark
There are many ways in which group dynamics resonate in this film. Group work can foster connections and provide an opportunity /for group members to feel bonded. The Titans football team is a task group; the ultimate role of the group is to have the players come together as one unit. However, there are critical group dynamics that threaten the team’s ability to function properly.
All members of the groups were on different levels of acceptance with who they are as a person and the process expectations. Although members on different levels and stages of steps, they all had the same commitment goal. They all accept who they are because prior to members speaking the have to state their names and admit their problems. For any member of the group to be able to handle the changes in their group, they must some knowledge about their group leading
Group Reflection Elements of Yalom’s therapeutic factors were apparent over the course of the semester while experiencing and conducting our breakout groups. Yalom refers to 11 therapeutic factors in the practice of successful group therapy with them being: installation of hope, universality, imparting information, altruism, corrective recapitulation of primary family, development of socializing techniques, imitative behavior, interpersonal learning, group cohesiveness, catharsis, existential factors. Teamwork is vital and important to the success of the company. Without teamwork the process to achieve higher level will be slow down. Working in a group or team will automatically develop a system that allow us to complete our task perfectly and quickly. For example, during this internship I was given a task by the project manager to create a schedule based on the projects site. I was very glad to have a cooperative team which works as team to come out with the perfect schedule without clashing with other project site.
A. OBJECTIVE AND THEORETICAL BACKGROUND In this individual reflective report, I will discuss how the Consulting Project course gave me opportunities to experience, explore and evaluate the real-life business case, how it strengthen my practical business knowledge, problem solving and leadership skills, and how the learning process will support my personal development goals. To help structure my reflective report, I will apply the Kolb’s model of reflection which we learned from the LPDCM course. Question 1 Peter Loescher was hired by Siemens when the company was experiencing extremely difficult times. After the bribery scandal, the main goal was to gain back the trust and respect from the customers and partners, as well as building a new vision. The company’s board of directors decided that they needed a person from outside of the company, who had no connection and loyalty to previous vision, and no affiliation with previous management team. In my opinion, the company owners hired Loescher for a specific purpose to change the overall team perception of how work is supposed to be done.
My small group experience was back in Secondary School where I was part of my school’s National Police Cadet Corps (NPCC) Cadet Leaders’ committee. The group lasted for approximately two years. Within the two years, we have meetings every fortnightly. This committee is a task group in which all members worked together to carry out activities for the school’s NPCC unit. The Cadet Leaders’ committee comprises of 10 members.
At our first few meetings, team building was key. In an effort to overcome the initial shyness, we took the time to understand and get to know our fellow team members; in doing so, establishing a welcoming and encouraging environment for everyone to share their ideas whist too ensuring everyone felt appreciated. Getting the team to gel was essential for the team to get results. We met at regular intervals, usually weekly, to discuss and reassess our progress. However, finding the time to meet proved quite difficult, between everyone’s busy schedules and with the plenty of other assignments we all had going on simultaneously.
It will briefly discuss the feedback from my tutor and the group members. And finally the conclusion. Definition of group According to Berg, Fall, & Landre (2013, p 195) "Group work is a broad professional practice involving the application of knowledge and skill in group facilitation to assist an interdependent collection of people to reach their mutual goals which may be intra-personal, interpersonal, or work related" Planning In order to prepare for our group facilitation exercise, my colleague and I sat together for the first time in class to plan and discussed our understanding of what we thought was expected of us.
Teamwork means that a group of people work with us to achieve a common goal, so selecting the team members is very important to help the team in achieving the goal of the team. Through my participation in this team learned a lot of teamwork and contributed to all my ideas that benefit the subject. It also contributed to explaining some of the ideas found in activities that were not clear in some students. The ideas also contributed to working as a team and benefiting the students in the team and then in daily life and work.
Motivation, perception and team work are all vital aspects of a functioning group no matter how big or small. Without these contributions, we cannot achieve the goals. Not only did I learn more about how it is to work in groups, but I also learned something about myself. In the end, the experiences I had, both with the group and individually, was worth it. It prepared me not only in college, but in my future career as well.
Teamwork in the workplace gives the company and employees the ability to become more familiar with each other and learn how to work together. Teamwork is also essential to the success of an organisation and to the development of each employee. Understanding teamwork will assist in developing company's policies with regards to teamwork in the workplace. ● Responsibility and Delegation. Teams that work well together have an understanding of each other's strengths and weaknesses.
