Reflection On My Writing

Reflection Writing an essay takes a while to improve and fully grasp. However throughout the different essays I was able to write, I have mostly understood my weaknesses and strengths. This allowed me to fix the areas that were most weak in my paper which helped strengthen the other essays I had the chance to improve upon. The improvements I saw in my essays were able to help me understand whether I was heading on the right direction with my paper or not. I was also able to well understand the areas where my writing needed the most change thanks to my professor and class mates who’ve directed me to improve those weakness in my paper. Through the different essays I was able to write in class, I have worked on improving my word choice and comma placements in my writing. Although I grasped the understanding of where to put commas or when they are needed, I do make mistakes from time to time in my writing. I usually think that it’s only necessary to place a comma after the word “but” which is true in some cases, but there are other words which have the same importance in adding a comma to continue the sentence. In my first essay I stated, “If you start learning now everything will become much easier for you later” my mother would always say” (2). After the word “later” there should have been a comma which I left off unknowingly until my professor stated the problem. I blame myself on not understanding the placements of the comma. However, after I began to understand the importance of a comma in a sentence was I able to see the full strength of my writing in the third essay. The usage of a comma took me a while to fully grasp, but I believe that it was well worth my time in learning to improve, understand and help with the many essays I may have to complete at some point in
