Opportunities like volunteering at Beaumont Hospital and Zaman made me realize my ability to empathize and relate to other people of unique perspectives. During my experience at Texas Boys State I was able to collaborate and interact with different young men across the state whom many had various beliefs and opinions especially in politics and society. This difference in opinions showed how my perspective of the world is not the same for some other person living in Houston for example. At the time it was a little overwhelming listening to all the debates and opinions for hours but fortunately I came to respect the beliefs of others and not let my personal opinion interfere with theirs. Overall, I had a wonderful experience communicating and working with these young men from various high schools across Texas where I learned that resepct is necessary when dealing with one who belief 's are different

Political culture establishes the backdrop against which politics unfold, it establishes the outer limits of what is possible, or even probable in the political realm. Texas political culture can be described as traditionalistic and individualistic. Texas traditionalist political culture believes in the values that policies are designed to preserve social order in the state, politicians come from society’s elite, and politicians have a family obligation to govern. While on the other hand, individualistic political culture believes that government should be limited when it comes to the lives of the public, individual rights of the citizens should be the main focus of a government rule, and a stronger support of personal politics rather than elitism. Texas also has a strong populism influence.

Texas has sought U.S. annexation ever since it gained its independence. Due to political disagreements regarding slavery, the procedure, however, took close to 10 years.
When I was 14 I had to move to San Clemente, California. I had already recently moved temporarily to Texas while a house was made ready for us on the military base. “The house is ready!” my mother had said excitedly, after being on the phone for a few minutes. “It’s time to go back?”
As a small child, I grew up in India, a place well known for its cultural, linguistic and genetic diversity. As a child I have lived in many different places. As my dad climbed up the corporate ladder, we relocated to five different states in India. Each move made me stronger as I had to continuously get used to different schools, teaching methods and still adapt to the different environments. After each move, I had to make new friends and start over each time.
Texas is a great state to be in. At times I rather live in Texas then any other state. My allergies are bad with this Texas weather. It changes so often we never know what each day will be. I was in Colorado and New York and my breathing and allergies were fine.
