After the sentencing to death Socrates had about of month in a jail cell to wait for the ship to return from Delos. During this time his followers and friends came to visit him. Plato recounts Socrates' time in prison awaiting execution with his fictionalized story of Crito, in which one friend in particular was Crito. Crito came to Socrates bright and early with the intention to persuade him to escape jail and flea.
This assignment was one of the hardest paper we had to do in our quarter because, we had complete freedom on how we wanted to develop our topic. During the peer review I found out that I had done the assignment wrong and didn 't have a clear idea of what I wanted to project in my paper. I took a moment to decide what I wanted to say and started to change and remove sentences that weren 't necessary. On my first draft of my Literacy Narrative I made negative statements about my writing, which wasn 't the purpose of the assignment. After some time, I finally decided to write about my growth in writing and how I found another outlet for my creativity and where I consider myself to be good at.
This may sound a bit out of line, but it is true. Once I began to see writing as a conversation and not a perfect piece of paper I was able to break through and have an epiphany. I was able to express myself because instead of trying to find the right words to say, I was turning my feelings into the words themselves. I was being vulnerable to making mistakes and teaching myself that we are human: the best face to put forward is an honest one. After this breakthrough, I was able to improve my writing by: connecting with my audience, using rhetorical appeals, and learning self-criticism.
I had never been comfortable or particularly skilled at writing in the past. Writing has never been something that has come easy to me. I always viewed it as an act of punishment or an induced pain from spiteful teachers. I thought English teachers lived to fail students due to grammar mistakes, but as intense as that sounds, it is not true.
When going through the process of writing an essay, or any type of paper, there are many steps to tackle. Each step is unique in its own way, and for me, is ever-changing. In order to create different styles of papers, I need to have various processes going on in my mind. From the pictures given, I feel that a few of them relate to the non-changing parts of my process. First off, when I start my writing technique, I usually do not know where to begin.
Most of the times when I hand in a writing assignment, I am always told I have a lot of different things to work on like grammar, spelling, or the structure of my writing. The lack of confidence is probably all in my head, however when I am told to fix those certain errors, my teacher tends to look at me a certain way and the look comes off as a degrading feeling. Hence, if you take your paper to your teacher, and you continue to get that degrading look, it can break a student’s confidence down. Delaware State University’s professors have assigned different writing assignments to get our perspectives on how us students view any content area. They use different writing pieces to judge where our thought process is at and how we analyze different topics.
Writing process is difficult to realize since it requires a lot of skills and knowledge. Definitely, not many of us can start writhing right away without having any problems such as grammar, vocabulary or organization. However, a person can become a better writer if he or she will practice writing every day and will pay attention to his writing problems. To become a good writer, I have to improve my grammar, follow specific steps in writing process, and avoid using similar transitional words. Grammar is the number one problem in the writing process and causes me a lot of issues.

I. Introduction Edgar Allan Poe was one of the most important American writers of the nineteenth century. Much of his work was inspired by the events that happened around him. Poe's works embodied the short stories creative theories and the eternal theme he devoted to his life: the horror after beauty has gone, the horror of death, the horror of gloom and the horror of weird phenomena. Published in 1842, The Masque of the Red Death was the representative of Poe’s aesthetics and writing themes. In this horror story, "Red Death" is rampant outside the walls of the Royal Palace.
Every student has their own writing process. Writing process ways is the student's way to have the best writing assignments and make who ever read it understand their main idea. In this essay I am going to explain my own writing process for various type. In chapter 4 by Keith Hjortshoj “How Good Writing Gets Written” which talks about how should develops their writing skills and gives them some tips that they should use in their writing process.
Throughout the term there has been many writing assignments —big or small— that helped reflect my writing process or the process itself. In the beginning of the course I felt like I was an “ok” writer, but lacked some skills such as: organization, sentence variety, and vocabulary. Also, I did not like to write and had a feeling of dislike when forced to write. I felt like I improved on everything I wanted and was seen throughout the semester. I know how to organize my ideas, the worksheets given in class to work on sentence variety really helped, and vocabulary was built on some level.
ENG-122 Reflective Essay My writing process has changed tremendously over the course of this class. I feel more accomplished, confident and I feel sometimes that my ideas and thoughts just come in to my mind out of nowhere and I start writing about anything now. I pay attention to my punctuation and grammar more as I have polished them more now, not only when I write but then others write as well. I am constantly looking for errors and I highly think this is helping me a lot in my career.
I believe that through this past semester, my writing knowledge, and writing ability has grown significantly. I hope to continue growing my knowledge about writing throughout the rest of my days in school and the rest of my
Writing has always been an issue but yet interesting subject of mine. As hard as I try and write essays, and papers I just can’t get the hang of writing. But after taking this class, I did learn different writing technique and improved my writing proficiency, material body of formatting, and how to uncovering and properly use sources. Through class exams, essays, and a research paper, I was able to learn new writing skills. Although I have learned a variety of things, my writing still needs improvement.
As I began the journey of returning to school, one of my biggest fears, was the writing aspect in the classes. The fear of reading and writing has never been a strong quality; however, I have never able to successfully be creative in the way I learn. I understand my weaknesses and when I need to focus on my strengths. I am constantly learning new ways, skills, and tools to utilize to continue to grow as a writer. Focusing on my strengths allows me to have the security that I can be a good writer.
