During my freshman and sophomore year, I was actively involved in volleyball during the fall months. During both of those years I was selected by my teammates to represent them as team captain. To fulfill this role, I went to the team captain meetings and when there were problems with the team, I either helped solve them or I went and got help for them. Besides having the role of being team captain, being a player on the team taught me how to work together with others. For sports, it is important to know that you have to work with other people to reach the goal. Being able to work with other people is an import life skill to know and use. Through FFA there are so many different options to learn and grow. There are different competitions with various levels to compete in, many conferences to go to, and so many more activities one can get involved in. My freshman year I went to a Greenhand conference, this was a great way to learn about what FFA has to offer in the future and to meet new people that shared the same interests as me. Every year there is a state conference available for any chapter in the state to come to and compete in competitions and get involved with different events. My freshman year I competed in the Greenhand quiz. This quiz was over different things that involve FFA, and I earned a high silver. The following year, I helped the new freshman by telling them what I would study more, if I were to take the test again. This year, in December, I will be competing in a welding contest. I have taken two welding classes through GCHS. I will be the first to represent our chapter in this area. Next year if there are any other students competing in welding, I can help them and explain what they should practice before the
