A Registered Dietitian is a professional nutritionist who has met all of the requirements necessary to work in this profession. There are several requirements that will be discussed in this paper. Once finished with this paper you will know exactly what it takes to become a Dietitian Nutritionist and where I intend to be in 5 years. A RD or Registered Dietitian is a trained nutrition professional who has met all the requirements set forth by the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. In this field there are a variety of settings one may work in, such as schools, long term care facilities, hospitals, etc. There are several requirements that are required to become a registered dietitian nutritionist. These would include earning a bachelor’s degree with course work that is approved by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Coursework for this would include food and nutrition sciences, foodservice systems management, business, economics, computer science, sociology and several more. Another requirement would be to complete an accredited practice program or internship. There is also a national exam that must be taken and passed to get registered. I will have finished school and be working in my field. I will hopefully be working in a hospital or doing research in the medical school. I am not really going to complain with any position that I am blessed with, I will just come to work and do my job and enjoy it. I want to be able to show my children that both of their parents have worked hard to finish school and raise them to want a better life. I want to make more money and not have to struggle from pay check to pay check to ensure my family has everything that they need and want. This may be a lot I have planned or see myself, but I believe I will succeed in my
