A new movement called humanism characterized this era and was evidenced in art, music, and literature. Humanism is the emergence of the individualism of man, as well as his dignity and juxtaposition with God. It explored the divine nature of man and his actions.
Leonardo Da Vinci was a painter, inventor, mathematician, and writer in the Renaissance. He became very popular as his work spread across the world. Some of his most popular work is the Mona Lisa, The Last Supper, Vitruvian Man, Lady with an Ermine, and Self-portrait. With his work growing in popularity his artwork was looked as a model. With his famous painting, the Mona Lisa, there is a foggy background.
Leonardo Da Vinci was born in Florence, Italy. He was the son of a lawyer, named Piero Fruosino Di Antonio Da Vinci. His mum Caterina, is commonly believed to have been a local peasant. By the time Leonardo Da Vinci was 14 or 15 he was a student of Andrea Del Verrocchio. He learned a wide range of technical skills such as metalworking, leather arts, carpentry, drawing, painting and sculpting.
Throughout history, art has been very important. The biggest time for art, though, was the Renaissance. Many artists got their start in this era. Some popular artists include Donatello, Michelangelo, Raphael, and Leonardo Da Vinci. I believe that all of these people were amazing artists, but Leonardo was the most significant artist of his time.
Born April 15th, 1452, in Vinci, Italy. His “last name” Di Vinci means “from Vinci” in Italian. He was born from Messer Piero and Caterina(Last name not known), Leonardo was born illegitimately, which means his parents were not married. He lived his first five years of life in Anchiano with his mother, then moved to Vinci to live with his Uncle, Francesco. He never lived with his father, for his father was a noble(rich general) , and had a family of his own without Leonardo and his mother.
