Do you think the mission was a success? In the passage “A Success in Space” the author Cameron Keady says that the mission was a success because it gives researchers valuable information that they can use to study more. In the passage “Comet Probe may Shed Light on Earth’s Past” the author Ashley Yeager says that the mission was a success because scientists are studying more about the kinds of rocks, dust, and ice which they will have success because they know more about space. The mission was a success because the scientists are understanding more about space, the researchers are getting more information that helps them, and because the spacecraft got some pictures of the comet. First, the scientists are learning more about space because they are getting more information. In passage 2 paragraph 8 it states, “By studying these hunks of rock, dust and ice, scientists hope to better understand the early history of the solar system including Earth’s early years.” This shows that the scientists are understanding more about space and the solar system because the scientists are learning more about space and what to do in different situations, so they will be experienced if they need to know more about space.
