Throughout my high school career, I was in three honorary clubs, which were Spanish Honor Society, Florida Future Educators of America, and Key club. Without including the honorary societies I was in five other clubs; Peace Insight, Diabetes awareness, Interact club, Here to Help, and Wolv Pak. I was a member of Wolv Pak from my sophomore year to my senior year. In Wolv Pak, we would cheer the football team every Friday night, and assist in a portion of the pep rallies. I was also a part of Here to Help from my sophomore to my senior year.
Since I had excellent grades last year, I had received high honor rolls throughout the year. I believe that I will get high grades this year also.
By active community service, leadership roles, and hard work, I have learned the incredible importance of academic achievement, character, leadership, and service. Through these things, I have been substantially prepared by the Beta Club to serve others as I depart high school and
Attending Cypress Creek High School was a crazy roller coaster with its ups and downs, this school had a dramatic influence on who I am. While attending Creek I got to meet various of different friends and teachers; however, the teachers who I admired the most helped me to understand myself better as a person. They introduced me to extracurricular activities and clubs that I joined. Clubs like key club, Interact, National honor society, HOSA, and many others. Although, these are individual clubs, there is one unified goal of helping the community, and in helping out as many people possible.
I was named the president of the safty club and was in charge of making sure the school was safe. Jake and I worked together to try to bring the whole school together. My world changed after joining that glee club. It changed my life and I love them all. After I graduated I went on with my dream of persuing acting and lucky for me a lot of the directore like the whole invisibilty thing they said they could use it to my advantage.
I noticed that after I finished my time monitoring sheet that, there is absolutely no reason for me not to complete my studies at GCU. I’m always available because I don’t have a job or children to take care of my only responsibility are my dogs. So now that I start school my biggest priority will be to do my school work and turn it in on time. But I did notice that I waste a lot of time doing nothing but, I guess that’s good in a way because now I can replace the time slots that I’m doing nothing, with studying so I can make better grades.
I am a member of many different associations at Canyon High School, but the club that has made the most impact in my life is Leadership. Leadership is a selective program on campus that invites students who have shown leadership qualities to improve them to make a bigger impact. I was nominated into the program my freshman year and have carried on with the program all throughout high school. The club’s main focus is to encourage students to use their leadership qualities to prevent and stop bullying. As nominees, we undergo a two-day training session that exposes us to ways to improve ourselves and those around us.
Fortunate, is what I call myself because I have a better life than most of my extended family. I was born and raised in El Salvador up until the age of six. When my parents decided that my brother and I would have a better future here in the United States. My parents left everything behind in El Salvador to give my siblings and I a better opportunity in education and life itself. Though my parents had to leave most of their family behind to provide for us, they have done it without second-guessing.
This can be shown on my application;however, that list does not show the impact it had on me. From Sophomore year to Senior year, I was involved in PALS. This club gave me the opportunity to work with younger children in my community. It was very similar to the Big Brother Big Sister program. I was given the opportunity to influence and inspire others.
I contribute to my school by being a leader in many of my classes directing and guiding students with any help that they may need. We exchange ideas and different perspectives on texts and concepts. The activity that I have been most involved in is Yearbook. I worked as a staff member for three years and this year am the Editor-In-Chief. My experiences in yearbook have helped me learn and grow in many different ways. First, I’ve improved my time management skills. Especially as Editor I have had to work around the deadlines from Jostens, the company we work with to create the yearbook; I have to manage my time and the time of the other staff members to ensure that we meet all of our deadlines.
Cooperating Lesson Plan Reflection The artifact was developed and implemented for two kindergarten students from the ages of five to six years old. The subject taught in the artifact is reading. The classroom setting is a resource room with varying grade levels and exceptionalities. The artifact was developed for two exceptional education (ESE) students identified as learning disabled as well as English as a Second Language (ESOL).
My fifth grade summer started with my mother volunteering me as a tutor twice a week throughout the summer. I visited my neighbor’s house to assist her in tutoring kids with math and reading. I of course protested, but my mom being my mom made me do it anyways. After my first week, I began focusing primarily on tutoring elementary aged kids. It took me a few sessions to acclimate to a teaching role rather than a student.
The members played a big part in this personal growth of mine, as well. I was shocked when random community members would come up to me to congratulate me on a win or ask how the teams are looking. It was important for me to be assured that they care about the things I was doing. These small conversations felt like an invitation for me to start and hold meaningful conversations with adults. Some of the greatest lessons that I have taken from high school are lessons that have nothing to do with the curriculum.
This year I tutored middle school students. I contributed by always managing to make it whenever I didn’t work and by helping students do their best. My goals last semester was for us to communicate better, we had trouble communicating with the teacher. As a group we didn’t really feel acquainted to her and it was hard for us to communicate.
