To be given the privilege to be called a leader is a lot easier said than done. There are several responsibilities that come with this title, as this job is certainly not easy to successfully accomplish. One of these responsibilities includes attaining fantastic personal management skills.

Personal management skills are extremely vital to be an exceptional leader because people need a role model. Leaders must have this skill developed, practised and perfected in order to be valued and followed by their peers. If a leader does not have the expertise in this skill, they cannot function a group effectively. In easier terms, imagine this scenario:

You’re an all-star soccer player hoping to get a scholarship for university. This year, you’re on a team with one of the best coaches in the program. To your surprise, you realize your coach is late to almost every game and practice! This not only infuriates you, but your team is slowly falling apart as well. Your teammates are loosing trust and respect for the coach despite being known as one of the best coaches in the program; this ultimately results in an unsuccessful soccer season.
