In The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet,Romeo and Juliet were two very similar people by the way they acted to even the way their families acted. They both get treated the same way by their parents, they both were not honest, and even their families acted the same way. Both, Romeo and Juliet got treated the same way by their parents. Juliet’s dad, Lord Capulet was going to let Juliet have some say in who she married. He became very hard on her and gave her no choice but to marry Paris once he found out about Rome.
He acts impatient and foolish in nearly every dramatic situation. This panicking is the underlying reason that I believe he is to blame for his and Juliet’s death.
In Shakespeare 's acclaimed romantic tragedy, Romeo and Juliet, the death of the two main characters can be attributed to two things. Their love for each other, and the social expectations of their time. A love so powerful, yet unthinkable sustains irrational thinking and impulsive actions, and results in the suicides of Juliet and Romeo. Social expectations of their time only add fuel to the flames, in that it gives them cause to kill themselves and pressures them into it. The tragic death of the two lovers Romeo and Juliet could be the fault of their love for one another.
Most movies that show stories interpret the tale differently than what is in the original text. This often happens to make the movie more appealing for a mainstream movie audience. Both of these lead to differences in the movies that depict the story. This is apparent in the movie Romeo and Juliet by Franco Zeffirelli in 1968 and in Romeo and Juliet by Baz Luhrmann in 1996. In the two movies, the tale of Romeo and Juliet is told so plainly differently from the original story.
William Shakespeare’s inspiration for Romeo and Juliet came from a poem. Romeo and Juliet is a story about two star crossed lovers, whose families were feuding. Juliet was a Capulet, and Romeo was a Montague. Romeo attended a party held by the Capulets where he intended to see Rosaline. While at the party Romeo saw Juliet for the first time and fell madly in love, forgetting about his first love Rosaline.
Every time a movie is remade, there are bound to be differences between the original and the new versions. Romeo and Juliet has been adapted into multiple movies, each portraying the tragic play in the director’s own way. In the 1967 version of Romeo and Juliet, directed by Franco Zeffirelli, portrays Romeo and Juliet in a lighthearted manner. In the 1996 version, directed by Baz Luhrmann, is more violent and filled with action. In the 1967 Romeo and Juliet movie, the fight scene between Mercutio and Tybalt is portrayed in a jesting manner based on the light-hearted personality of Mercutio whereas, in the 1996 version, the battle scene is dark and violent due to the brooding and notoriously problematic personality of the modern Mercutio.
Classic literature has long been admired and idolized, the prose and poetry a far cry from that of today. The lack of expansion in the abridged version versus Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, leaves much to be desired as the experience of full version tells a more human tale to be drawn upon, hence the comparative worthlessness of the abridged version. Reading the abridged version, one cannot help but notice one misses out on appreciating Shakespeare’s fine craft and gift for writing, the knowledge imparted within the text is removed, and there is a sheer lack of depth offered by the shortened piece. Personally, the Baz Luhrmann 1997 version of Mercutio’s Death scene in Romeo and Juliet was more effective out of the two we’ve been presented. Initially, This version of the scene indubitably grabbed my attention for the reason of it’s dramatic, serious and suspenseful plot that makes me want to keep watching. The modern version has a lot more action and it is not simple to follow along than in the other version of this scene. Specifically, The fighting is a clear example of my thinking.
This quote shows how both forms of literature, even with their differences are the same. In both the play and the movie, Romeo and Juliet’s love is forbidden due to their family’s feud. They struggle to be together and are eventually driven to extreme measures to escape their situation. Romeo, believing that Juliet is dead, takes his own life, and when Juliet wakes up and finds Romeo dead, she also takes her own life. Overall, even with the differences shown throughout the play and the film adaptation, they are still the same
Love and hate can make people go to extreme lengths for their own reasons. Even though hate sounds strong, it’s actually fragile compared to love. It can make people more creative than a normal person can. People can make extreme and unique plans just to see each other. Like in the story “Romeo and Juliet” by Shakespeare.

The top one that I would recommend is the 1968 version, directed by Franco Zeffirelli.
