Romeo and Juliet, the story of “star-crossed lovers;” would not be quite the play without conflict. Conflict is of the utmost importance, in any great story. This writing will discuss multiple subjects about conflict. Firstly, the psychological & physical similarities & differences in the conflicts. Nextly, how the conflicts between the families end in tragedy. After that, the three main conflicts in the play. Finally the theme of conflict. All of these subjects will be discussed throughout the passage. One of the major differences between physical and psychological conflict in the play is there is actual physical fighting compared to psychological fighting. Tybalt's death was an effort by the Capulets to kill Romeo for attending their party but after the duel Romeo ended up winning in the end, killing Tybalt. Now on the other hand Romeo and Juliet were forced to be apart, so they chose death instead of a life without each other. Although in the end both families decided to end the feud as a result of many tragedies. Many examples through the play show how the fighting between the families ends in death/tragedy. Throughout the play Romeo and Juliet there are many conflicts. The first major conflict in this book is when Romeo goes to the ball when he’s not supposed to. Peter approaches Romeo and asks him to deliver invitations to people for the ball. Peter tells Romeo he is invited unless he is a Montague but Romeo is a Montague so he can’t go but Romeo decides to go anyway. At the ball Romeo sees a beautiful girl named Juliet and that's when he falls in love. The second conflict in this play is when Romeo kills Tybalt. Romeo kills Tybalt because Tybalt killed Mercutio and Romeo was very angry so he plunged his sword in Tybalt's chest and killed him. Romeo and Mercutio were very close friends so losing Mercutio was very hard for Romeo and so he took his anger out on Tybalt. Killing Tybalt resulted in Juliet being very angry with Romeo because Tybalt was Juliet's
