Romeo and Juliette The “O happy dagger”! This is thy sheath: there rust and let me die.” spoken by Juliet is the quote that signifies the tragic death of two lovers, and two feuding families. Romeo and Juliet who face nothing but hurdles to be together. The tale of two star crossed lovers that could never freely love each other. Always stealing moments here and there in order not to get caught by their families. Their families despise one another, leaving them with no choice but secrecy, and deception. The one who should be held accountable for all deaths is Tybalt. Tybalt always picked up unnecessary fights with the Montagues, unprovoked. In Act 1 scene 1, Tybalt expresses his feelings about the Montagues. “What, drawn, and talk of peace! I hate the word, as I hate hell, all Montagues, and thee.” He clearly states as an insult towards the family and the situation at hand. He does not want any civil interactions between the two families. He also created a problem with the Montagues when Romeo and his peers snuck into the ball Capulet hosted. Though there was a preexisting feud between the Capulets and Montagues, Tybalt's role added fire to the fuel. Tybalt goes out of his way to insult Romeo and his friends. He ends up challenging Romeo to a duel, that his friend Mercutio accepts in his honor which ends in his death at the hands of Tybalt. If Tybalt had left the Montagues alone, the situation between the two families would not have gotten as hostile as it had. Challenging Romeo to a duel which led to Tybalt's death set off a sequence of deaths. The fire for revenge had been started by Tybalt's actions. Romeo had to avenge his dear friend, who had sacrificed his life for him.
