Juliet’s parents arranged for Juliet to get married to Paris in hopes of lifting her spirits from her cousin’s death and increasing their family’s wealth. To the Lord and Lady Capulet’s surprise Juliet rejected getting married to Paris, and when her parents threatened to disown her she looked to the Nurse for support. When Juliet needed the Nurse’s support most she gave advice instead and backed up her parents. The Nurse said “I think it best you married with the County'' (iii.v.218) and completely switched from Juliet’s side of getting with Romeo. I think this was the wrong time for the nurse to advise because of how many conflicts Juliet was already facing such as the threat of being disowned, how she could escape the marriage to Paris, and how she will be with Romeo when he is banished. When Juliet responded with sarcasm towards the Nurse speaking of how she has provided her with comfort the Nurse did not appear to pick up on it. The Nurse says "Marry, I will, and this is wisely done” due to the praise from the Nurse on how Juliet switched her opinion implies that the Nurse did not recognize the sarcasm. This series of actions tells me that the Nurse wants the best for Juliet even when it is hard to tell her. Hitherto in the story, Juliet’s Nurse played a role where she did everything Juliet asked for such as getting information from Romeo and keeping Romeo and Juliet’s relationship secret.
