Some of the people that impacted segregation were Daisy Bates, and Jackie Robinson. Daisy Bates impacted segregation because she wanted all African American students to be able to go to schools without being a problem so that is why Daisy Bates has been working with the NAACP for 18 years. Jackie Robinson also had an impact on segregation because when he was joining the league no one liked him but that didn't affect him. Jackie used his popularity to go to a different type of rally to stop segregation. Solomon Northrup's story is one of the many reasons why African Americans have been tragic in The United States' history.
She had also refused to stand up on the bus to give up her seat for a white passenger. She had done this before Rosa Parks. She was a plaintiff in the landmark legal case Browder v. Gayle that helped the practice of segregation on Montgomery buses. She had grown up in the poorer neighborhoods. She mostly had A’s in her classes.
On December 1, 1955, Rosa Parks an African-American woman refused to give up her seat on a bus to a white man. She said, “”I don’t think I should have to stand up.” As a result, she was arrested and fined. Since Mrs. Parks’ appealed her conviction, she essentially challenged the legality of segregation. The even sparked a year-long boycott of Montgomery, Alabama buses and many consider her fateful bus ride to be the birth of the Civil Rights Movement.
From the 1920s to the ’60s, segregation was at its peak. African Americans and people of other minorities were treated as if they were inferior and were not given the same rights and opportunities as whites. As this was going on, the world needed a voice of reason. Although many people have fought segregation, Martin Lr. King Jr. was one that continues to be a symbol of peace and justice, even decades later.
Dr. Martin Luther KingJr. , played a pivotal role in ending segregation. King led many non-violent protests against it and took a lot of abuse for it. In spring of 1963 King organized a demonstration in downtown Birmingham, Alabama. The police came to disrupt the protest.
The aforementioned example of Rosa Parks was just one small step in the journey of ending racial segregation and discrimination, and demanding actual equality for all Americans regardless of the color of their skin. Every sequential individual social movement, whether it was a boycott or a peaceful protest or just an individual fighting for her or his human right to equality, fueled the momentum of The Civil Rights Movement until it was too big to be ignored. For decades many civil rights leaders and activists fought for rights and equality. None of this was even taken into consideration until King came into play in the 1950s (Fighting For Equal Rights in America par. 2.) As the central figure of civil rights for African Americans, Martin Luther, forced action and change in our nation, and changed opinions of not only African Americans, but whites too. Through his powerful and emphatic speeches, white people began to believe that King was right and that segregation was not right.

When Rosa Parks got an arrest, it had started a resolution. When Rosa didn't get up from her seat for a white man, the driver called the police and arrested her. So at her court date, the African Americans had started a boycott. The Africans have to seat in the back of the bus in the colored section. Because Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat to a white man; she started a revolution and the fight for equal rights for black people.
