A code of conduct is a set of rules that explains responsibilities of an individual or group of people to respect ethical codes and religious laws. As to say “follow the rules” , or there will be consequences if broken or not follow. It is all about showing good manners, consideration for others, and courtesy. These codes demonstrate behavioral expectations are not only in recommended in schools but also public places such as restaurants, food markets, malls and many more. Some codes may not have the same punishments or a warning but should all be focused on providing people with ethical standards. A code of conduct is very important to have and to read everywhere people attend to in order to have an understanding of what is allowed and what is not. It is not good to have the same code of conduct for twelve years because the information provided will change throughout the years. Sometimes the rules can change depending on the people’s behavior. It should also be changed because people always find new ways to harm others or cause harm in a public place. For example, in Ryan Halligan’s case it stated “Ryan shared an embarrassing personal story, the newly found friend returned to being a bully and used the information to start a rumor”. People become fake friends just to cause harm and ruin others lives like what was said about Ryan. In this case the school did not get involved because it did not take place in school, but they should all have a code of conduct that mentions anything going on with students, teachers or principal can get involved in it.
