The moment of conception is the moment a life starts... a heart being formed 20 days after conception. So if you decide to terminate your pregnancy, is that really killing of an innocent life even if the baby hasn't been born and taken it's real first breathe? Technically speaking, yes, getting an abortion is the act of killing a life, but in some cases it’s safer for the female to get one, than go through with the whole pregnancy. Going through with a pregnancy could sometimes be fatal to the person carrying the child, if they have high blood pressure risks, cancer, std/aids, etc. And even though the baby is a separate human being with a different heartbeat and all, it is still the woman's body and she does have the right to chose to do and what not to do with it. Going through a pregnancy is very hard on a women’s body it could cause her physical damage, maybe even kill her. At that point, it’s critical that the woman going through the pregnancy decides what is best for her and/or her child. Some people say that “if a woman has sex, she has to pay the consequences..” (Pro Choice Action Network) And even if that may be true (if it's consensual) bearing an unwanted child should never be even considered a “punishment” for having sex. Because even with all the risks, the start of life and birth is supposed to be a beautiful thing. But if someone does not want a child, then they should not be forced to do so. Even if that would be the right thing to do. Also if abortion is made illegal again, it would become unsafe because others would find ways to do it in secret and it wouldn’t stop women from getting an illegal
