Abortion: the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy, most often performed during the first 28 weeks of pregnancy. A normal pregnancy lasts about 40 weeks. When you think of abortion, what is the first thing that comes to your mind? I asked my peers what the first thing came to mind when I said abortion. Two of my classmates, Bre and Alec, girl and boy, both said that they first thing that came to mind was teen moms. Alec also added that the abortion was caused by no use or the misuse of contraception. The issue is the ability to let women have control of their body. I am pro-choice.

Three reasons is the accidental conception, personal choice, and moral views. Having a child is strenuous both physically and mentally, so no one is going to get pregnant and have an abortion for fun. I am in an elective class called Justice and Law and this subject seems to pop up a lot in our class. Taking this course has changed me from pro-life to pro-choice, purely because of the information I learned. That is the weakness in most views. I see pro-life as wrong because other people are trying to control women, also judging them and shaming them. I understand if you are a part of a certain religion that is against abortions, but not everyone agrees with your religious ways. The most controversial concept is killing a human. There are many possibilities as to when being human starts. Is it conception, when the baby breathes for the first time, or when the umbilical cord is cut? This can also branch off into when rights start. I believe a fetus is a baby when the umbilical cord is cut because the baby isn’t dependent on the mother
