I’m highly interested in joining this community because I want to be part of something to defines me as an artist. To further develop my art skills, working with other students and teachers. Furthermore, I would like to expand my knowledge and improve my skills and be a proud graduate of Parsons School of Design. Hopefully, I would stay here for another few years to get my Masters. I do believe that I would be an excellent fit for this college. I love learning and exploring new ideas. I chose The New School because I have drawing for my entire childhood. What brings my art to life are the creative notions that show my interpretation. I thrive to exceed in The New School's campus, taking my art to the next level, and hopefully landing my future career in Communication Design and Illustration. Since I was born and raised in Queens, New York, by a single mother, I've traveled all around New York, to see how diverse the culture is. In fact, there are multiple examples of expressionism and surrealism in areas such as Downtown Manhattan, Williamsburg, and Astoria. I am always curious about the different art styles, compare to the basics. As a nineteen-year-old young woman, my style of art has become surrealist to the viewer's eye. I have gotten compliments from my teachers in Frank Sinatra, that I have an abstract vision and I display that in my artworks. From basic pencil drawing, to mix media on random platforms. From painting acrylic on wood to using cosmetics on newspaper print. Besides the city that inspired me to experiment with my craft, music, storytelling, and films have played a role in my position.
