In Lara Buchak’s essay, Can It Be Rational to Have Faith? , she asserts that everyday faith statements and religious faith statements share the same attributes. She later states that in order to truly have faith, a person ceases to search for more evidence for their claim, and that having faith can be rational. Although she makes compelling arguments in favor of faith in God, this essay is more hearsay and assumption than actual fact. In this paper, you will see that looking for further evidence would constitute not having faith, but that having faith, at least in the religious sense, is irrational.
In the first, SBIRT video that I watched client, women around 50 years old; who has admitted that she has alcohol issue. Clinician, male around 50 years old as well. It is clearly a fictional video that shows students how to conduct an SBIRT interview to assess the level of alcoholism on an individual. The clinician 's interview is conducted in 6 steps for 6 minutes. Step 1: Professional present the subject, in a way that was direct to be clear what it is that they both are going to talk about it.

“Handler” by Jane Martin and “Jesus Shaves” by David Sedaris have different outlooks on the higher power of faith. The narrator in “Handler” says that “there is one sure thing in this world…yer empty, yer gonna get bit” (Mays 1666). You have to be filled with the spirit of faith because if you’re not, you will be bitten. In “Jesus Shaves”, the narrator is saying that faith is a personal thing, whether you can see it or not.
By choosing the believing game,I was able to overcome this struggle and was given a deeper understanding on how to deal with future issues. In order to examine how the believing game can bring a positive outcome compared to the doubting game, Elbow’s essay needs to be examined. My personal experience will be shared, and I will discuss why believing had a positive impact and left me with a deeper understanding. I think science and religion are both very important to the way of life and how we see the entire universe. But I believe religion is more believable than science. For science can be proven wrong at any given time and religion can never be stated untrue. Such as the story of creation, evolution, practices and beliefs can contradict these theories.
The power of belief can produce a conviction in us so strong that we can seemingly manifest that belief into our reality. Having these strong convictions (or beliefs) causes us to take certain actions that then allows for the creation of those beliefs. This power of creation our reality is one we all harness, and it feels almost supernatural. This is where faith really gets reinforced also. An example of this is when you feel like your prayers have been answered.
