Scrooge awakes to the second of the three spirits, the Ghost of Christmas Present. Consecutively, they go on a little tour of his town and Scrooge observed the large amount of Christmas cheer almost everywhere. Scrooge and the Ghost of Christmas Present zoom in on a house which, conveniently, is his clerk’s family’s home. The twain watched as the Cratchits eat dinner and, while doing so, meeting all the young Cratchits and one in particular named Tiny Tim, who’s a little bundle of joy despite being crippled. Consequently, everyone falls in love with Tiny Tim and Scrooge questions, “Spirit, tell me if Tiny Tim will live.” The spirit replies by saying, ‘“I see a vacant seat, and a crutch with no owner.”’ Scrooge, heartbroken, pleads to the spirit,
