Each Kindness By Addie McGee Teacher: Burnham In the book called Each Kindness by Jacqueline Woodson, the author teaches us that other people’s actions can affect you and can harm your self-esteem. Maya always asked Chloe if she wanted to play Jax with her and she always said no, whichthat ended up affecting Maya in negative ways. Another reason is when Maya waves and smiles at Chloe but Chloe never even bothers to look at her. Or how about when Chloe and her friends were making fun of Maya's clothes and then even eventually pushed her out of the school?. These actions clearly show that other people's actions can affect you or even your self-esteem. My first reason why other people’s actions can affect you and can hurt your self-esteem is when Maya always asked Chloe if she wanted to play Jax with her .and Chloe would be around her friends and they would all say no in a mean or jerky way. I'm pretty sure you're thinking how making fun of Maya harms her self-esteem but when Maya overheard them talking about her second-hand store clothes she felt really bad and I'm sure that Maya's self-esteemself esteem dropped down and she became insecure.”I have a new name for her, Never New” The next day she tried to impress Chloe and her friends by wearing a pretty dress, but sadly the girls knew that she was worn before. In the picture, it shows that Maya is trying to impress the girls but Chloe and her friends are not having it. Once again Maya looks like she's gonna cry and to be in second grade and for bullying to be happening right in your face must make you feel really insecure.
