Aspects of Self-Serving Bias
Being self-serving biased is a feature of human behavior that justifies people’s actions in different situations. In this analysis, several strong and week points have been discussed in term of being better than others, explanations of negative and positive events; unrealistic optimism and false uniqueness effect. The purpose of this investigation is to observe some arguments from different sides. The outcomes demonstrate that if people control the self-serving bias, people can get accomplishments easily.

The clarification of this points provide us with this information that we approach the accomplishments and failure from different perceptive. It is believed that being self-biased protect our self-esteem (Kendra Cherry). Therefore, we consider that if we get success, our abilities and effort play a crucial role in this accomplishment; however, we are going to blame someone or something if consequences are not satisfied. This character supports us to justify our behavior and avoid from any responsibilities. For instance, I also blamed someone when I did not accomplish the requirements on time and I could not pass the exam. The first year of my university life, I failed exam and I believed that it happen because of complicated questions. Although the tasks are very difficult, I might not have failed exam. Now I admit that I did not concentrate on the exam and I was irresponsible. Likewise, we consider that positive events occur because we have planned, organized and done them in order. Our skills and cleverness demonstrate the ways to solve the problem and get success in life. Most of people have a confidence that they will get high income and appropriate future. Consequently, they begin to think positively and ignore some responsibilities. However, I consider that there is one misconception that it should be taken into amount. In human life, people usually have some ambitions to achieve. We cannot think that ambitious people suffer from unrealistic optimism. Aims and goals are motivational factors that give a power to people to fight against the obstacles. In the world, a lot of people who are disabled have some goals that stimulate them to overcome their challenges and aims are the basic reason to become more sociable. Moreover, defensive pessimism that is given a remedy for unrealistic optimism also has some inadequacies. People have different identities and some people can be frustrated simply by failure. They can even attempt to suicide. Defensive pessimism contains the self-doubt which is considered motivational is very controversial issue. As I mentioned people who are not strong enough can face several difficulties. They cannot encourage themselves to prepare the assignments.
