Sentencing Juveniles To Life Without Parole: Is It Right? Is sentencing Juveniles to life without parole the right thing to do? I believe that in some situations, sentencing juveniles to life without parole might be the right thing. I have found several credible sources that show why life without parole for juveniles is sometimes the right thing to do. But sometimes what happened in their past is the reason they did the things they did. In the article “Juveniles’ Life Without Parole: An Overview,” it states that “80% of girls reported histories of physical abuse, and 77% of girls reported histories of sexual abuse.” (Rovner) This technically means that, what happened in these girls’ past could have caused them to get sentenced to life without parole. In another article that involved my family, it stated that “A Loris man was beaten in his sleep by his step son because of an argument that he and his wife had gotten into.” (Miles) The man who got beaten was my father and the stepson is my brother. Sometimes people do it just to see what it would feel like to watch someone die or how someone's’ insides look like, but you never know. Some people are just like that, maybe these kids did these things because they are like those kind of people or they did it for a reason, but we won’t know the real reason because we are not those kids. I believe that these kids did these things for reasons but maybe they didn’t. I know that there are certain people that would do these things just to do them but that doesn’t mean these kids are that kind of way.
