We'll be exploring the different steps involved in criminal cases, from the initial investigation all the way to the final verdict. I'll also be delving into some fascinating case studies, real-life examples, and class discussions to help us understand how these procedures play out in practice. This is an exciting opportunity to gain a comprehensive understanding of the legal processes that shape our criminal justice system. SCAVENGER HUNT During my scavenger hunt for my criminal procedure service-learning project, I came across some intriguing organizations that I can partner with. It was a thrilling experience to dig deep into how each organization does business and how we are able to provide services to or for them. Below are the three organizations I was able to contact and get more information on. According to East Baton Rouge City Court, I spoke with Elzie Alford, Jr. and he gave me insight on how things work within their office. This court handles civil, criminal, and traffic matters. The service project itself provides the opportunity to make a tangible impact in the community and apply what we've learned. It allows us to put theory into practice and develop important skills. However, being able to make connections between course concepts, personal values, and the service experience adds a deeper level of meaning and understanding. It helps us see the broader implications of our actions and fosters a sense of purpose and growth. In my opinion, the combination of "doing" the service project and making connections is what truly enhances the service learning experience. It allows for a holistic approach that integrates practical application with critical thinking and self-reflection. Both aspects contribute to personal and academic development, making the overall experience richer and more impactful. For the tools that I have chosen, the reflection will be completed by each student that is involved in the project. Reflections from each student involved should be worked on after the service is complete and should be completed within a week after the service
