My name is Shanna Patrick, and ever since I was a little girl, I knew I was born to lead in the business world. I used to tell people I wanted to be a pharmaceutical sales rep like my father, and here I am many years later as a sales intern with ALKU! I have always been interested in business because my parents work in sales, giving me a front-row seat to what it's like in this field. I love how there are so many different areas of business to go into based on what fits your interests. I am creative and good at selling myself, which goes hand in hand with marketing and sales. With marketing, I can develop creative brand ideas and use my critical thinking skills. Inclusivity is important to me because just because someone is a leader doesn't mean their opinions are always correct. Giving others a chance to speak creates a diverse environment and room to grow. With this international experience, I hope to meet new people, have fun exploring a new country, grow in my independence, learn about business in a new place and step out of my comfort zone. The beauty of learning about business in a new country is that every area handles things differently, and I am eager to learn how London, England makes their decisions and what drives its motives. An international trip also allows people to visit new places and see if they could see themselves living there in the future. I am very eager to travel after college, and having this opportunity to be a part of this trip allows me to see if London is somewhere I could see myself long-term.
