Napoleon Dynamite, directed by Jared Hess, is an unique comedy following the life of a teen named Napoleon. Essentially, the film’s plot is following Napoleon, his family, and their odd adventures. The film shows Napoleon’s high school journey and his new friendships with Pedro and Deb. In the film, Napoleon and Deb work together to help Pedro run for the school president. Additionally, it follows Uncle Rico’s small businesses and Kip’s online love life.

Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton were both comedic geniuses that rose to fame at an early age. Both known for their outstanding slapstick comedy films, it is still debated which of the two is the greater comedic genius of his time. While the two shared many similarities, their movie styles differed from one another quite a bit. Their acting, storylines, and on-screen personalities has their own vey distinct styles.
In this scene, lighting is used where a shot reflects on eves face to the farmer in the car on the farm showing how far they are. The scene continues where the lighting used appears too bright and somehow blinding to show the time of day the scene is taking place and the emptiness of the field and the only part left out is Thornhill thus focus is drawn to him and this launches the audience into the attack where the lighting makes it easy to know that he is alone in the barren land which makes him vulnerable and the scene captivating. The editing is utilized in the film where quick and intense scenes are made to be real fast in pace which creates suspense. Sound is also used where the music in the background moves in sync with scenes of suspense where it turns loud and fast making the audience aware of the impending danger (Pernoud, 2015).

Parallel editing was present in the film wherein it was edited in a way that two scenes were alternating to make it appear that they were happening simultaneously (Lorber, 2010). High and low angled shots were also present, and panoramic shots as well. The editing that I liked the most was in the scene when The Machine Man was made to look like Maria. The surge of electricity in this particular scene and the orbits going up and down The Machine Man was what amazed me. It is shocking that in order for this to happen, the people responsible for editing had to film this frame by frame so imagine the hours, days, weeks or even months that were put into this particular scene.
