The production of video games is combative and the center of attention is the bottom line. The video game industries are struggling to conquer the attention of the young customers in the growing market. Children under the age of Seventeen years are interested in the mature rated games and that makes the video game to be well known and marketable in the growing economy. We connote violence as one in which an invader create or endeavor to produce bodily wound or death to another individual. Everyone has their own opinion on violence in video games but ultraviolent video games are harmful to children when they play. Do you think the government should allow our children to purchase or play ultraviolent video games? Timothy F. Winter in his article “The Government Should Stop Kids From Buying Violent Video Games,” tells us about the research on the negative effects of ultraviolent video games on young children resulting in legal battles throughout the country (para. 1). In the article, San Francisco Bay Area Democrat Leland Yee wants to pass a law in California to prevent retailers from selling ultraviolent games to young children without parents because after they play this video game, they intend to go out and practice with their friends. According to Winter, he explains how kids sit back and take part in the violence in the game choosing whom to kill and urinate on (para. 6). According to Elizabeth A. Some parents have no idea about technology, so their kids have the chance of going out and purchasing any game of their choice. According to the article, Timothy F. Winter the president of the Parents Television Council says, “For parents and grandparents, most of whom have never seen or played one of these explicit games, the notion of video games violent is likely to conjure up an image akin to a Tom & Jerry or Road Runner cartoon” (para. 2). In other words, some parents are used to older games like Mario cart, Bricks game, Tom & Jerry and much more, so they don’t focus their attention on the kind of games the kids are playing. For example, my mum is a person who never checks up on my brothers when they are playing video game she has no idea about how ultraviolent video games have an impact on kids. So my brother started learning bad behaviors as a result of playing the violent video game.
