Why aren’t we pushing for students to wear school uniforms all the way to high school? School uniforms should be required to be worn all the way to high school because it allows for students to focus more on their education and what should be important at that age. Some might argue that it doesn’t give them the freedom to express themselves and individualize themselves if they are all wearing the same thing. After bearing in mind both sides of the issue and ponder about what is the benefit that students will merit in wearing a school uniform through high school, I’ve come to believe that students will be more successful and focus on their education there be less tyrannizing and harassing others because of what they wearing, if they were oblique …show more content…
They might rebel against school policy by not wearing their uniform to school. They might create chaos because they don’t have the freedom of expressing their individuality, because they are not all the same. According to the website listland.com, “when you are restricted to wearing uniforms in school, you are denied the opportunity to make decisions for yourself. After all, you do not have a choice because the others have already made it for you” and it goes on saying, “You know you are an adult when you are given the freedom to choose – whether you like this or that. When you were young, you know you are not an adult yet because your parents (aka the ‘adults’) made the decision for you” (www.listland.com). First of all with all the respect students at that age are not adults, they are still their parents’ responsibility. Another reason why I disagree with this statement is because, uniforms are not the cause of not expressing who they are and because a jock will always be a jock a cheerleader will be a cheerleader if she chooses to join the squad.
