In today's world, many students love to wear trendy clothing, even if it is inappropriate. This causes disturbances in a school setting. This leads to parents asking if schools should require school uniforms. Summit Middle School students should not be required to wear uniforms because it does not allow them freedom of expression. Some students cannot afford school uniforms. Students should not be required to wear uniforms because a uniform disregards freedom of expression. “A uniform requirement violates, or disregards, the right to freedom of expression, say some people. What's the school district going to do for people who can't afford them? Fashion do or don't? This demonstrates that students should not wear uniforms because some people may not be able to afford them; Summit Middle School students should not be required to wear uniforms because of religious purposes. “If students have to dress a certain way for religious reasons, they will not be able to wear the uniforms” (What to wear?). This shows that some people need to wear certain clothes for religious purposes. Summit Middle School students should not be required to wear uniforms because they will also have to buy regular clothes for outside of school. “Students will still want nice clothes for after school, so they will have to buy uniforms and regular clothes” (What to wear?). This shows that students will also have to buy uniforms and their regular clothes, which can be expensive. However, some people may say that schools should require uniforms “Uniforms make schools better places in which to learn”(Fashion do or don't?). This is true because uniforms may prevent distractions.
