“You're a girl, you’re not strong enough.” This a stereotypical comment that is consuming the athletic world today. Massive prejudice arguments are being thrown around on why females. should not participate with males. Women are not fragile competitors in the workplace so why should they be on the field? Although they may not seem be tough enough, if there is no other opportunity and their skill is up to par, girls should be about to play on boys sports teams.
Some small community or private schools only have a boy’s team because it is primarily a male sport in that area or only a girl’s sport for the same reason. But not all girls want to play the sports that are primarily female. If there is no girls soccer team at a school then they should have the opportunity join if they are fit. Also, Boys and girls both get the time to see how each other play and gain a well-rounded technique and performance ethic. I have played on co-ed tennis teams my entire life. Playing against men and women has not only made me tougher mentally and physically but strengthened my skills and technique. But regardless the sport, skill level should be the primary deal-breaker.
