Similar to Romeo and Juliet, Rewrite The Stars commences with assessing how two lovers handle their relationships, and comes full circle as the two lovers realize they’re, “hands are tied” ( Efron and Zendaya 1). The realization that nothing can be done is found in the song and Romeo and Juliet and, which is also the reason Romeo and Juliet to take their lives. Additionally, Juliet and Zendaya’s persona are very similar in the sense that both are very cautious and careful of their love, contrary to the men. Moreover, the basis of Romeo and Juliet’s love is established on the foundation of destiny. Given the audience knows the future of Romeo and Juliet, the whole play is an example of dramatic irony, which adds more suspense to this plot.
The novel “Romeo and Juliet” by William Shakespeare is a play that tells a tale of a tragic love that continuously utilizes those events for the creation of the film “The Titanic”. “Romeo and Juliet” is a play that tells the story of two people that could not live their love due to their parents, so it ends on a tragedy. Pardoned or Punished? “Your lives shall pay the forfeit of the peace” (1.1.92). If everyone had listened to the Prince no one would have died. In Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, Friar Lawrence, Nurse, and Lord Capulet should all be punished for their crimes. Friar Lawrence should be punished for his actions.
but if they did they would escape the whole fight when benvolio says. “I pray thee, good Mercutio, let's retire. The day is hot, the Capels abroad, And if we meet we shall not 'scape a brawl, For now, these hot days, is the mad blood stirring.” This quote helps me understand what is going to happen because Mercutio would like to fight, but Benvolio does not. Since he is so nice though he ends up going with Mercutio, Benvolio is also extra cautious because he says that the sun makes people more angry and in this case that is very true.
In Romeo and Juliet, Mercutio states that “dreams are the children of an idle brain” after talking to Romeo about Queen Mab and how she manipulates people’s dreams based on their lifestyle. I agree with the statement because a dream is an imagination you have when you are asleep for your own sensation and are usually not possible. Dreams are made up based on the subconsciousness of the human mind. For example, Mercutio states that “Begot of nothing but vain fantasy” (I.iv.99). Mercutio is basically saying that dreams are fantasies and are based on the desires of the human mind and that they do not occur in real-life.
The Shakespearean play, Romeo and Juliet and To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, demonstrate that choosing acts of hatred over compassion can cause consequences that intervene with death, relationships and neighborhoods. From Romeo and Juliet and To Kill a Mockingbird, the characters who chose to respond to situations with resentment lead to the loss of other lives. During Aunt Alexandia’s missionary society meeting she is interrupted by her brother, Atticus Finch with the news of his client, Tom Robinson's death. Atticus delivers the devastating news,“They shot him (…)
Teen suicide is one of the most over looked problems The United States is dealing with today. According to a nationwide survey, 16% of high schoolers have seriously considered committing suicide, 13% of them formed a plan on how they would complete the task, and about 8% of those students followed through. The story Romeo and Juliet may seem like love story between two star crossed lovers, but in reality it was about two unstable teenagers dealing with mental disorders that contributed to the resolution of the story, them both taking their own lives. Most people believe that Romeo and Juliet committed suicide because they were destined to die, but on the contrary, Juliet really committed suicide, because she was going through major depression,
In the play Romeo and Juliet, many characters struggle with an emotional instability that leads them to making impulsive decisions that result in chaos. Shakespeare is able to combat certain gender stereotypes by making impulsivity and emotional instability problems within characters who are female and male. The results of these flaws are often either death or an outcome similar to it. In Romeo and Juliet, Shakespeare challenges gender stereotypes by portraying both male and female characters as susceptible to emotional instability and impulsivity, which ultimately leads to chaotic outcomes, including death or similar tragic consequences.
Shakespeare wrote Romeo and Juliet in year 1595. Disney made the animated film, Gnomeo and Juliet, in 2011. Gnomeo & Juliet is a computer-animated, comedic recreation of Shakespeares masterpiece. In sed movie, all of the human characters are replaced by lawn decorations. There are 3 major differences and 3 major similarities between the two.
Love is said to be poisonous, but that only may be if one mistakens another emotion for love. In Shakespeare’s tragedy Romeo and Juliet, a play, consisting of two star-crossed lovers who are deprived from each other because of a feud between the two families. Romeo, a Montague, attends a party where he first lays eyes on Juliet, a Capulet. Claimed to be love at first sight, they marry without rendering their love to the public. This causes trouble in the Capulet house when Juliet is said to marry Paris and cannot see Romeo because of his banishment from Verona.
FRIAR. Hold fast, young Romeo! Be still and living whilst I catch my breath. [Bends forward and wheezes.] ROMEO.
This results in Romeo and Juliet sneaking around. Also, at the ball at the Capulet house, Tybalt gets angry with Romeo for being there. “Uncle, this is a Montague, our foe, our villain that is hither come in spite to scorn at our solemnity this night” (Shakespeare 1015). Tybalt expresses his hate for Romeo. Even though he does not know him, Tybalt still views Romeo as an enemy.
On average it takes 2 whole months to fall in love with someone, however Romeo and Juliet take less than a day. In this essay, I will be comparing and contrasting, Romeo and Juliet by Shakespeare, and “Love Story” by Taylor Swift. Both of these stories show love between 2 parties, and can be compared in many ways. I have found multiple similarities which include, Romeo and Juliet meeting and falling in love at a party, them wanting to get married, and the famous balcony scene, and I will be comparing them with Love Story in this essay.
Through narrative voices, male characters express their enthusiastic response of affection for their female counterparts. “Michelle” is a love song performed by Sir Paul McCartney in the White House for the Obama’s. The song is about a male who must speak in French in order to connect with the girl he admires who presumably only speaks French. Romeo and Juliet is a play written by William Shakespeare, that takes place in the 1300’s. The play is about Romeo verbalizing his first reaction to Juliet’s beauty.
In my U.S. History class, my teacher has an image of The Mona Lisa because there some history behind the picture. For example, who drew The Mona Lisa? Well, it was Leonardo da Vinci.
