In Act 2, Scene 2, Romeo and Juliet have their famous balcony scene in which they confess their love to each other. Their attitudes towards this entanglement gives an insight into their characters. Romeo is passionate and impulsive, while Juliet is more level-headed and practical. Romeo‘s passion for Juliet is through intense emotion and impulsive actions. Which contrasts with Juliet, who is more deliberate and cautious. Romeo's attitude characterises his passionate declarations of love and desire. He uses poetic language, romantic metaphors and imagery to express his intense feelings. For example, he exclaims, "But soft! What light breaks through that window there?
