Narratives have been created and passed down for centuries with each story containing a hidden moral within. Hidden messages such as greed, haste and justice are what’s found when uncovering the themes of Animal Farm, Romeo and Juliet and To Kill a Mockingbird. Animal Farm, Romeo and Juliet and To Kill a Mockingbird are fictitious in nature, but the morals held in them contain the purest truth. The hidden message in Animal Farm is that giving power to another ruler doesn’t change the “human” nature of greed. Although Squealer and his fellow pigs gained leadership they did not keep their many promises; more food, better quality of life and less labor. In fact the band of hogs did quite the opposite by rationing less food, making living conditions harsher and labor more intensive (Orwell).
