In all ways Simon would have been the best leader not only because he cares about everyone, but he also puts everyone before himself. He even cares about the littluns. Proof of this is in the middle of page 56 Simon is described as “Then, amid the roar of bees in the afternoon sunlight, Simon found for the fruit they could not reach... passed them back down to the endless, outstretched hands." I chose this quote because it shows how Simon goes out of his way to help out the littluns when no one else would and this makes the littluns look up to Simon and follow his role. This next quote that I picked from the book shows us how Simon knows they are changing from once little boys to savage. “Simon saw the picture of a human at once heroic and sick.” (6.140) A trait of Simon that has helped him out during survival is knowing when enough is enough, and keeping the little humanity he has left in himself to lead the others on the right path. …show more content…

Then,Simon found them the fruit they could not reach, pulled off the choicest from up in the foliage, passed them back down to the endless outstretched hands. When he had satisfied them, he paused and looked round.” Simon is helping out the littluns because he knows that everyone matters in survival,and puts everyone's differences
