1. TERMS OF REFERENCE

1.1 Background Information
This report was created for the Social Media paper SCM501. The report is based around a Social Media plan for Benge & Co. It will be received by the NMIT tutors of this Social Media paper Clare Atkins and Belma Gaukrodger.
1.2 Scope of the Report

3. FINDINGS

3.1 Benge & Co – Chosen Company
Benge & Co is a green grocer store that sells fresh high quality fruit, vegetables and other natural healthy products. The company is based here in Nelson as the headquarters resides here. Benge & Co has a total of four shops, the locations include Nelson, Richmond, Stoke and Blenheim. The business was established in 2009. They sell a wide variety of products that are sourced from local markets every day to provide the best quality and cheapest prices available. Their main demographic is middle age parents and older generations.
Benge & Co currently only use Facebook as a social media platform. They have a website but it has been in construction for a long period so that only holds a limited amount of information including store locations and contacts for each store.
Benge & Co strive to:
- Buy fresh for you everyday
- Provide local products at a cheap rate
- Support local trade and businesses

They are one of the main competitors of Benge & Co. The two companies are very similar in the fact that they buy and sell local fruit and vegetables but Raewards sells other products including their own cut and packed meat and other products such as frozen foods. Raeward Fresh has a bigger following on Facebook, approximately over one thousand more likes on their pages combined as they have two main Facebook pages, one for Queenstown and a general one. Raeward also has two main websites, one for the Queenstown branch which is their biggest store and a general website for the business. Their websites integrate their Facebook pages to engage customers which is something Benge & Co doesn’t do.
