World War II was one of the most-deadliest wars in U.S. history. The German government was overthrown by a man named Adolf Hitler. Germany was going through a depression at the time of Hitler’s take over. Germany had to ration out food to help save money and resources. Hitler decreased the Jewish community’s rations to nothing. According to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum “approximately 304,000 Jews, emigrated during the first six years of the Nazi dictatorship, leaving only approximately 214,000 Jews in Germany proper (1937 borders) on the eve of World War II.” (Encyclopedia) Hitler did not like Jews.
