The school protects their students by keeping all school doors locked during the school hours.
Sociocultural Determinant Sociocultural determinant of health influences the health of a population. Among the school, Latino and African American students are make-up the largest group of ethnicities among the student population. At Harding, the culture of the students reflects a carefree culture. The carefree culture has students partaking in actions that affects the health of the student negatively. The health system involves health services provided to a community. The Iowa Clinic provides Harding with free sports physicals for student athletes; this eliminates the need to receive the same service outside of school. Funding at the school is set within a budget that can be used by the school nurse. school funding is sufficient to provide students with the free breakfast program and free meal plan. Medications are provided to students at Harding. On a regular basis, students with diabetes, ADHD, and asthma visit the nurse’s office to receive their medications. Tylenol and Ibuprofen are dispensed with limitation to students. students can only receive a certain amount of these medications with the school year. Mental health services are supported with the assistance of a social worker, success worker, behaviorists, school therapist, and counselors. Among the community, there’s a lack of free clinics available within a close distance. Having free clinics near the community would benefit the health of students and the
