The purpose of this paper is to describe how Southwest General Hospital, works within the management functions we have discussed throughout our course. The diverse dynamics of this company fully encompass all the management functions we have examined. By applying these management functions, Southwest General employees can deliver quality healthcare to its community. Although the company truly values the differences that all its employees convey, it is no stranger to the challenges that these disparities bring forth on members of leadership. With a vast variety of cultural, social, and religious backgrounds, organization leaders are tasked daily with incorporating a philosophy of treating everyone with inclusion and empathy. This company mirrors our textbook’s viewpoint that “to be inclusive, we all need to empathize with everyone—put ourselves in their shoes and try to understand where they are coming from, and accept them for who they are rather than reject them or try to make them into who we want them to be—just like us (Lussier, 2017, p. 75), all while avoiding any type of discrimination. Southwest General embraces cultural diversity while it simultaneously promotes teamwork and collaboration, by recognizing the benefits that every employee enhances the company’s vision by each bringing their own ideas to the
