As a younger girl I grew up Catholic and attended a public school in Wellington, Ohio. I was not the most involved with my catholic faith when younger. I would attend PSR classes and mass. Ever since I transferred to Saint Paul High School in fifth grade, my catholic faith has deepened immensely especially in high school. I began to come more involved and I noticed myself changing. Coming to a catholic school was one of the best decisions I have made.
Throughout my high school career at Saint Paul, I have grown noticeably closer to God. I believe it started in theology class. My theology teachers helped me understand my faith more. Even if that required me to question who I was becoming. My teachers have always challenged me in my school work, making me have to work hard for the grades that I deserved. At first I did not like the idea of giving up my weekend to stock shelves at the Food Bank or clean animals at the human society. I never knew how much it really meant to help others until I went to a Catholic school. I realized helping the least of God's people was one of the most important parts of my faith. As catholics we are called to live a life of charity and service. Saint Paul taught me to love service. Through service I was giving to others who desperately need it. Service also taught me that it is important to put others before myself. I believe if I went to a catholic college that I will continue to strengthen my faith and also my ability to help others. The reason I want to continue my education at a catholic university is because I when I visited Walsh University, I felt like I was at home. The students and staff were so friendly and welcoming.
