Standardized test are test that all students must take. Standardized test in the state of Mississippi is a big part of education for their students. State test aren’t just a major part of of education in Mississippi but if you plan on going to any college in the United States you must take and pass these test. ACT, SAT and high school state test are the test you must pass to go to college. And the test don’t stop there; once you make it to college you have standardized test you must take to go into the career that you’ll looking for. Standardized testing for high school hasn’t always been around; it exactly started in 1994 after president Clinton changed the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965. Even elementary schools have standardized test they must take, but it’s nothing serious. But Standardized test for college students have been around since about the 1800’s. High school students all around America only have to pass four state test to graduate: Math, English, Science and History. Everyone doesn't agree with this method of state testing in highschool but they don’t look at how these test are preparing students for college and the real world. Schools like Smith, Bowdoin and Bennington do not require those test. With schools taking away these standardized test America is getting weaker in world wide education ranking. According to Business Insider; they ranked Singapore, as the smartest country in the world. Singapore is a country that relies on standardized testing for everything and is very strict about it. Their government would not let you do anything without passing these test. But in America they're trying to eliminate these test and it’s stupid. For all the colleges that are trying to allow students in without and form of state testing are just making these students even more
