I am applying for admissions to the U.S. Department of State Student Internship Program because I want a career in U.S. foreign affairs. I think that one of my most distinguishing characteristics is the diversity of experience that I possess. I am a business major with high self-discipline, and good balance. I also am minoring in German culture, which touches on my passion of languages and foreign culture.
My pursuit of a business degree has given me the foundation for my organizational and goal setting skills. Four years ago, I started my second business Capes Go to Guys LLC. I have been balancing being a full time student while operating my business at its full potential. Until August of last year, I decided to pursue my other passion, foreign language and culture. Since August 2014 I have been studying international business abroad in Germany. The experience has proven that I am adaptable, and I have the ability to solve complex problems in a stressful situation.

From these experience’s, I have come away with a new perspective, and a new set of goals to accomplish. I have a high degree of experience in management and communication skills, from my personal business experiences. My university has given me the tools to solve problems, and put a high emphasis on how to work as a team. These skills and experiences will make an important addition to the Bureau of Administration. The Bureau of Administration intern should be able to handle a high variety of issues and be able to manage them all with professionalism, which is accomplished by a high level of communication, and organizational skills.
