Irena Sendler was a social worker from Poland during the Holocaust. She is famous for her attempts to save Jewish children from the Ghetto at Warsaw. In the beginning of her life, during the Holocaust, Sendler began rescuing Jewish children when the Nazis invaded Poland in 1939. Since she had admission to Warsaw Ghetto as a Poland social worker, she was able to transport Jewish children from the concentration camps they were held. As a social worker, she assisted people that needed help with medicine, clothing, and other essentials.
When I picked this person I asked myself two essential questions, Who is this person and why is she important to history ? I believe Hermine Santrouschitz aka Miep Gies is important to history because she helped hide the Franks and other families . I mean if you think about it without her we wouldn’t have read about “The Diary of Anne Frank” because it wouldn’t have existed . Meaning if she wouldn’t have hid the Franks Anne and her family would have just been sent straight to a concentration camp right away and they all would have probably died right when they got there .
Through these times, the young girl stayed strong through these times, she would write in her diaries about the hardships of the Holocaust but also positive and inspiring quotes were also found in the journals which shows how strong she was to still believe in the good and still be happy through this time. It is one thing to always look for the good but this young girl believed in the good while going through one of the most horrific tragedies in history. For this reason as well, Anne Frank is my hero. Learning about what happened to this girl made me realize that you have to be strong even in the worst situations because you never know how it could impact other people. Many of us go through hard times and for me my failing relationship with my dad affected me a lot.
Oskar Schindler A man named Oskar Schindler actually saved more than 1,200 Jews in the Holocaust. He persuaded the Nazis to save them and transferring his workers so they don 't suffer the death camps. He is a very brave man for what he did. By 1935 a lot of Sudeten Germans joined the pro-Nazi Sudeten German Party. Schindler joined too-not for the love of Nazis, but because it made business sense for prevailing wind.
I chose a woman named Eva Brewster to do my research on. I picked her because she was a young woman during the holocaust. She lived a very nice, wealthy life before the Holocaust. Eva wasn’t really a religious person. She remembers being good friends with other children who were Jewish, Christian, and some who she didn’t even know their religion.
Who would think that a gambling, drinking, impartial person would save the lives of 1,100 Jews in the Holocaust? No one. Such a person was like this and saved hundreds of Jews. Oskar Schindler wasn’t recognized until the 1980s, when a novel and movie highlighted his actions during the genocide. Oskar Schindler destroyed assumptions about bystanders during WW2, hopefully many will learn from his story so that they can change the future.
The Holocaust was one of the most horrific events in the world. Krystyna Chiger and Povel Friedmann had to suffer through this during War World II. Krystyna survived this horrendous war while Poval kicked the bucket in a concentration camp. Povel and Krystyna were both Jewish and during this time the Germans were putting Jews into concentration camps. This all went down in the year 1942.
Otto Frank The Holocaust took place in World War Two. Otto Frank was a Jew who was in World War Two. He also hid in the Secret Annex with eight other people including his wife and two daughters. Otto Frank is a good example of a survivor because he survived the Holocaust, he was in another war, and was good at medicine.
She wrote a diary describing her experiences and showed the world, through her words, the truth behind Hitler’s actions. She left a legacy for her amazing way with words and through her honest encounter with hiding and the “death camps” spread throughout Germany. Thanks to the World War II and the Holocaust, millions of Jews suffered horrific fates. Hitler, the German leader who led the Nazi, was the source of all this Jewish racial mistreatment.
When the Holocaust was going on, the Germans knew what was happening to the Jews and the U.S. did too. This one young man had the opportunity to experience the love of a group of Jewish women that helped him survive. He was

The most famous story of the war will always be the story of a girl named Anne Frank. Her story is known globally as the first girl that struggled through tough times during the Holocaust (“Why is Anne”). She is a symbol of perseverance and strength. Even though her story might be the most famous, every war story is important in its own way (“Anne”). Many Holocaust stories have been told over the years.
When as a young child I stumbled across Sylvester McCoy's 'Remembrance of the Daleks' I knew that when I grew up I wanted to be The Doctor. Unfortunately, I'm not a 900 year old Time Lord from Gallifrey and experience tells me that if I really want to look back in time and the events that have shaped the world to how it is today, perhaps a degree in History would be the way to go. In 2014 I had the honour of being chosen to participate in the 'Lessons From Auschwitz' project with the Holocaust Education Trust, a serious task that prompted great reflection on my part. This involved taking part in seminars, educating others about the modern day effects of the Holocaust, and visiting the Auschwitz concentration camps themselves.
He devoted his life to make sure the holocaust was never forgotten. He eventually won a Nobel Peace Prize and gave an emotional speech at the event. “ I remember: it happened yesterday or eternities ago. A young Jewish boy discovered the kingdom of night. I remember his bewilderment, I remember his anguish.
