Stem Cell treatment and research is a topic, which is constantly developing within the world of science. It is believed that stem cell treatment has no limit and it can treat any disease if the correct research is put into it. One disease that is successful when treated with stem cell therapy, is multiple myeloma. Multiple Myeloma is a cancer that attacks the bone in your body, most likely the bone marrow. But there are issues that arise as to whether or not stem cell therapy is a safe treatment, and what impact it has on the human body after the cancer has disappeared.

“In theory, there’s no limit to the types of diseases that could be treated with stem cell research. The problem that is seen is that it is believed that stem cells are not to proven to be 100% safe. “In other words, there is much to learn regarding the use of stem cells for the treatment of diseases” (Larijani) Stem cell treatment hazards include an increased risk of tumors after the stem cells have been injected into your body. “This drew attention to safety issues and importance of medical and ethical standards before clinical application of this new type of treatment.”(Lo) Which almost resulted in the cancellation of stem cell treatment research. There are also concerns as to what stem cell research can and will be used for, for example stem cell research can be used for development of human genetic research, and embryonic research, the big argument is which one is more important, and can help our society. (Mummery) However, genetic stem cell research is more common due to the ethical argument about whether embryonic stem cell research is morally correct or
