My whole life I have heard it said that in order to be successful you need to go to college and get a degree. After reading the text ‘You’ve got to find what you love,’ a Stanford graduation speech given by Steve Jobs in 2005, I realized that it takes so much more than going to college and getting a degree to live a happy life. Steve was born in San Francisco, California on February 24, 1955 to a young, single college student. Since his mother put him up for adoption, she wanted to ensure his parents were college graduates so he could have a greater chance of going to college. Even though Steve Jobs was a college drop-out, he still managed to accomplish many things throughout his life. He was CEO of Apple Inc., CEO of Pixar Animation Studios, and CEO of NeXT Inc., an American computer company. Because of his accomplishments, Jobs was widely recognized as an innovator of the microcomputer revolution of the 70s. This inspired me on so many levels because it shows that you can fail at something you love but it is up to you to decide whether to dwell on the circumstances or learn to grow from them. He realized that he still loved what he did even though things didn’t turn out the way he had planned. If Steve had never accepted the fact that he had failed at something he was very passionate for, he wouldn’t have had to courage to try again. I believe that once you find what you truly love there is absolutely nothing that can stop you from achieving your goals, you just have to work hard enough. I can relate to Steve in many ways because my dad had to experience something similar, and he has always told me that you have to work hard to get what you want and that “nobody else is going to do it for
