Steve Jobs: Motivation and Determination Steve Jobs, the genius who had a GPA of just 2.65 and who revolutionized modern technology, once said “Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle.” Steve Jobs is a hero because he constantly motivated himself and was not afraid to be different, which caused the creation of technology and devices we use every day.

An example of this would be when he went to India after he dropped out of college. While he was in India, he became a vegetarian, started seeking guru, and became a hippie. What was significant about his visit to India was that it broadened his eyes to issues around him, Seeing the poverty, the sickness, and primitive living conditions, Jobs began to rethink his choices. Ann Brashares stated, “Jobs later said that Thomas Edison had done more for the human condition than any guru”(Brashares 13). There were many ups and downs when he did not know where to go with his life. When Jobs hit times where he did not know what to do he did not give up. As a Minnesotan journalist said, “There were specific instances in his [Steve Jobs] life that seemed to push him beyond his comfort level and to cause him to push himself further” (Bistodeau 80). One example of this was in 2011 when Steve Jobs was very sick. Despite the fact that he knew he was ill, Jobs showed up to work and presented his ideas and plans for his new Apple campus.
