2.1 Stress at Work
Stress is another name for the sacrifice a woman gives while performing the job assigned to her. She pays the price for being successful in her profession. Many women, in different organizations have to go through different mental or physical disorders caused by unhealthy work environment which is normally avoided by the managers or supervisors (Melanie Bickford 2005). A working women had always to play dual roles. She is over loaded with work in an unsatisfactory working hour that increases in her stress level (Skinner and Pocock 2008). Bartlett (2008) proposed that incivility in the workplace has and always had negative effect and impression on working women. Either that is their productivity level or to their health. Some females even resigned because of incivility at workplace. Incivility at the workplace has been increasing with the passage of time which restricts females’ family to allow them to do out door jobs. Andersson and Pearson (1999) defined workplace incivility as “The low intensity deviant with ambiguous intent to harm the target, in violation of workplace norms of mutual respect.” Basically incivility means rudeness, lack of politeness; rude behaviour, (Cortina 2008). When any woman faces a rude behaviour and is not respected to the extent she deserves, the ultimate effect is seen in more absenteeism, perturbation of mind, displeasure and discontent, high employment strain, minimal creativeness and even termination can be taken as final decision, (Cortina et al. 2011). Many researches have proved that women had been facing workplace incivility in the form of “verbal abuse” in a working surroundings, (Sakurai, 2011). A negative reaction has perpetually resulted due to workplace deviance. When the woman could not face burden and stress over her, she gives up coping with the situations and frustration, anger, anxiety and depression come to the forefront, (Lazarus and Folkman,
