After listening to the History of Jazz by Ken Burns, Jazz brings a calmness to my soul. It is everchanging’ it has transformed racism, and segregation in a time where African-American and Caucasian people could unite. Jazz is feel good music, it makes you swoon, dance, sing, and transform into another place.
For a novice, Jazz requires patience and time. For those who are new to jazz, it may be viewed as boring, and intent listening. Depending on the member of a jazz group, trumpet player, or saxophone player one must listen to the melody, the sultriness, or the beat. The listener must commit to concentrating, in order to get the full appreciation. Jazz has the ability to connect people through emotions, pain, and remembrance, it is everchanging.
